The BMW rain sensor is a further example of enhanced driving comfort and safety on the road. The sensor determines how hard it is raining using a light-based measurement process. Once activated, the sensor will automatically switch on the windscreen wipers and control wiper frequency depending on rainfall intensity.
The automatic headlight control makes driving even more safe and convenient. Two light sensors in the windscreen detect the amount of daylight available and automatically switch on the dipped beam whenever required - at dusk, night, dawn or while passing through tunnels.
